As mentioned in an earlier FSM story, we’ve been working for quite a while on a rebranding of Free Spirit Media, the ten-year-old Chicago not-for-profit that offers transformative experiences to underserved urban youth.
Now the new Free Spirit Media is rolling out. Jell has created a refined new look for FSM, including a complete print identity, updated collateral, and a quarterly newsletter. But the organization is most excited that they now have a modern content-managed Web site that’s easily updated with the prodigious work of the youth in their South and West Side programs. The “Our Work” section of the site features documentaries, narratives, news, PSAs, and other student-developed work in a wide range of topics. Each video is tagged with its corresponding category and topics, making the growing video portfolio easy to explore.
P.S. Our friends at Free Spirit Media have more big news. When Transformers 3 filmed in Chicago this summer, our local economy experienced a welcomed boost, and so did the resumes of several FSM interns. Twelve Free Spirit kids were chosen to work on the set of the action film, assisting in the wardrobe department, working 3-D cranes and cameras, and using other pieces of high-tech equipment. Congrats from all of us here at Jell!
