Celebrating GPMF Chorus's 50th anniversary on Michigan Ave.

Our third edition of the Grant Park Musical Festival’s street banners appeared on Michigan Avenue today. To celebrate the golden anniversary of the Grant Park Chorus, we designed alternating banners designs featuring close-up shots of the female and male sections.

A quick history: the 100+ member Grant Park Chorus was formed by Thomas Peck in 1962. Today the chorus is led by Christopher Bell, who took over as chorus director in 2002. (Bell is also founder of the “Apprentice Chorale,” which features some of the most talented young vocalists form DePaul and Roosevelt Universities.)

Opening Night this year is June 13, but the big event is June 29, when Bell & Chorus will celebrate in style during the Golden Anniversary Choral Spectacular.
