Orrin McCormack

Orrin has been designing and programming Web sites for over 11 years. He is Jell’s technology leader on most Web projects, co-manages Jell Hosting, and helps drive innovation initiatives. He has extensive experience in conventional PHP/MySQL development but has been focusing more recently on creating applications through the Symfony PHP framework. He loves complex quandries involving the intersection of AJAX, PHP, and advanced JavaScript.

His sometimes intense, sometimes silly personality meshes well with his passion for tackling complex, abstract questions. Orrin has focus and determination, as well as the ability to put things into perspective — nice traits for problem solving. You can tell things are starting to work when you hear his booming laugh throughout the studio.

After graduating from SUNY Stony Brook with a B.S. in Physics in 2000, Orrin quickly plunged into all things Web. But when he's not nose deep in a book about programming techniques and user interface ideas, he likes to explore the outdoors — anything outdoors: fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, avoiding bears. We always look forward to his safe return, hopefully intact.
